During the Padma Awards ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Shah Rasheed Ahmed Quadari, a renowned Bidari artist from Karnataka, expressed his surprise to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about receiving the Padma Sri award.
Quadari candidly shared that he did not expect to be recognized by the BJP government, as there was a perception among some Muslims that their contributions towards nation-building would not be acknowledged.
However, PM Modi listened intently and laughed with a Namastey gesture, proving Quadari wrong. The veteran artist expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the award.
