Manthan Somvanshi: A Rising Star in Indian Music

Manthan Somvanshi is a new and promising voice emerging from New Delhi, making his mark in the Indian music scene. With roots deeply embedded in India’s rich cultural heritage, Manthan is steadily gaining recognition for his unique blend of music, heartfelt lyrics, and a genuine desire to connect with his audience.

Early Life and Background

Manthan was born on April 18, 1998, in Prayagraj, which was formerly known as Allahabad. He grew up in a family where education and creativity were highly valued. His parents, Pratima Singh and Pratap Somvanshi, encouraged him to explore his passions, and it was clear early on that Manthan had a natural inclination toward music.

In 2014, Manthan began his musical journey by sharing song covers on YouTube and performing live on YouNow under the stage name Zenith Sun. These initial efforts were just a small taste of the creativity he possessed and were the first steps in what would become a much larger musical career. Despite his love for music, Manthan didn’t neglect his studies. He completed his post-graduate degree in Economics and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in the same field at the Central University of Gujarat.

A New Identity in Music

After years of refining his musical skills and experimenting with different sounds, Manthan decided to take a big step forward in his career. He chose to drop his stage name, Zenith Sun, and start releasing music under his real name, which marked a significant change in his artistic path.

This decision wasn’t just about changing a name; it was a deep, personal transformation. With guidance from his mentor, Ms. Nadya Balyan, Manthan learned to embrace his true voice and express genuine emotions through his music. He realized that showing vulnerability in his art wasn’t a weakness but a strength, which became a core aspect of his work. Influenced by artists like Zayn, Manthan aimed to create songs that could connect with people on a personal level.

First Steps into the Spotlight

Manthan made his professional debut in July 2024 with the release of his first single, “Rencontre.” This song was more than just music—it was a powerful introduction to his artistic style. Produced and mixed by Sharad Joshi, “Rencontre” showcased Manthan’s vocal abilities and his unique approach to blending different musical influences. The song’s heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies reflected his desire to build a deep connection with his listeners.

The release of “Rencontre” was a turning point in Manthan’s career, marking the beginning of his journey as a professional artist. He hopes that his music can inspire and touch the lives of others, just as the music of his idols has inspired him. “If in future songs I can express even a bit of vulnerability, I want to thank the artists who taught me that being true to oneself is powerful,” Manthan shares.

The Journey Continues

On August 23, 2024, Manthan released his second single, “Vintage.” This track continued to build on the foundation laid by “Rencontre” and showcased Manthan’s evolving style. As both the composer and lyricist, Manthan demonstrated his growing talent, creating music that is both captivating and authentic. With Sharad Joshi once again handling production, “Vintage” left listeners eager to hear more from this rising star.

Manthan’s career is just beginning, but he is already showing signs of a bright future in the music industry. With his unique voice, personal lyrics, and commitment to connecting with his audience, Manthan Somvanshi is undoubtedly a star on the rise in Indian music.
