Masaharatis and Sehri Khans: Preserving Muslim Traditions

During the holy month of Ramadan, Masaharatis in the Middle East and Arab regions, and Sehri Khans in India and South Asia, carry out the vital duty of waking up Muslims for Sehri, the pre-dawn meal and morning prayers to begin the day of fasting. Despite the availability of technology, the tradition of human wake-up calls continues to be an integral part of Muslim culture and history.

Masaharatis and Sehri Khans are revered as dervishes who wake up fasting people during this holy month, preserving the traditions of the Muslim community. Their efforts are seen as a way of commemorating the past and continuing the legacy of Muslim traditions.
