Prime Minister Narendra Modi Unveils Ambitious Projects in Madhya Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a significant development, laid the foundation stone for the ‘Veerangana Rani Durgavati Smarak aur Udyaan’ and inaugurated a slew of projects in various sectors, collectively valued at over Rs 12,000 crore. These projects encompass road infrastructure, railways, energy, housing, and drinking water. The occasion celebrated the 500th birth centenary of the revered Rani Durgavati.

Honoring Rani Durgavati’s Legacy

Rani Durgavati, a formidable queen who reigned over Gondwana in the mid-16th century, is remembered for her indomitable spirit in the face of Mughal rule. To commemorate her legacy, the ‘Veerangana Rani Durgavati Smarak aur Udyaan’ is set to be constructed in Jabalpur, spanning 21 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore.

In addition to the cultural facets, the memorial will feature several parks and gardens, including dedicated spaces for medicinal plants, cacti, and rock gardens. This harmonious blend of history and nature promises to make the ‘Veerangana Rani Durgavati Smarak aur Udyaan’ a vibrant and educational destination.

Innovative Housing Solutions

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Light House Project in Indore, a groundbreaking initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban. This project will cost approximately Rs 128 crore to provide quality homes to over 1000 beneficiary families. It employs innovative construction techniques, significantly reducing the time required to complete the homes.

Empowering Jal Jeevan Mission

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation for multiple Jal Jeevan Mission projects, collectively valued at over Rs 2350 crore, in Mandla, Jabalpur, and Dindori districts. Additionally, he dedicated a Jal Jeevan Mission project in the Seoni district, worth over Rs 100 crore, to the nation. 

Enhancing Rail Connectivity

Prime Minister Modi dedicated the nation’s railway projects worth over Rs 1850 crore. These projects include doubling rail lines connecting Katni to Vijaysota and Marwasgram to Singrauli, a crucial step in bolstering rail infrastructure and promoting trade and tourism in Madhya Pradesh.
