Bahuda Yatra marks the end of Lord Jagannath’s nine-day stay at Sri Gundicha temple. On this day, Lord Jagannath and his siblings, Goddess Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra, return to their home in the Jagannath Temple. Devotees pull three chariots carrying the deities back to Sri Mandir. This year, the Yatra is happening on Monday.
Tight Security Measures in Place
The police have stepped up security for the big event. Sanjay Kumar, Odisha’s top police officer for law and order, said they’re ready for the Yatra. They’ve set up CCTVs, deployed forces, and made plans for traffic and crowd control. The police have done practice runs to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Kumar told reporters, “We’ve put 180 groups of police officers on duty. We also have armed police, three teams of RAF, and two teams of CRPF to help.” The police started their work at 6 in the morning, even though the main event began at 8 AM.
Special Arrangements for Devotees
This year, the police have made extra efforts to manage traffic. They’ve stopped regular visitors from entering certain areas to avoid overcrowding. Kumar said everyone likes the new traffic plan.
The police are focusing on keeping devotees safe when they pull the chariots. They want to ensure no problems happen during this important part of the Yatra. Many devotees have already come to Puri to see and take part in the Bahuda Yatra. The atmosphere is filled with excitement and devotion as people wait to see Lord Jagannath and his siblings return home.
The police and organizers are working hard to make the Bahuda Yatra successful. They hope that with proper planning and the blessings of Lord Jagannath, everything will go well on this special day.
