Muslim Communities Supports Hindu Pilgrimage, Counters Political Controversy

The Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), announces plans to help local Muslim communities set up camps for Kanwars. Kanwars are Hindu pilgrims who walk barefoot to get holy water from the River Ganga. The 15-day pilgrimage starts on July 22 and ends on August 6. At these camps, pilgrims will receive flower petals, cold sprays, water, food, and other refreshments.

MRM Supports Government Orders on Vendor Transparency

The MRM backs a recent Uttar Pradesh government order requiring food vendors on the pilgrimage route to display their names. The group says this order increases transparency and removes doubts. Some opposition parties claim this order unfairly targets Muslim businesses, but the government insists it’s about openness. The MRM states that Muslim vendors will respect Hindu religious practices, showing the country’s tradition of cultural respect.

Group Aims to Counter Political Division and Promote Unity

The MRM criticises opposition parties, particularly the Congress and Samajwadi Party, for trying to cause division. They say these parties are frustrated by repeated defeats. The MRM calls on its workers to protect social harmony and strongly oppose attempts to harm national unity. They pledge to follow the directives of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The group specifically criticises opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav for misrepresenting the government’s orders.

MRM leaders, including women members, stress that love for the country is important in Islam. They compare this situation to how Hindus help during Muslim festivals. The group believes Muslim vendors will show the same respect to Hindu pilgrims. Through these actions, the MRM aims to demonstrate its commitment to India’s unity and reject attempts to divide people along religious lines.
